01Training in Sunnyvale

Dogs in Sunnyvale, and the lives they actually live.

A lot of Sunnyvale dogs live in apartments and townhomes, which means shared hallways, elevators, neighbors through the wall and a walk schedule built around work. Barking at hallway noise or lunging in a tight lobby isn’t a small problem when you share walls.

We help Sunnyvale owners build quiet, settled behavior at home and calm, connected walks outside — skills that make dense living easier for everyone, including the neighbors.

02Local proofing environments

Where Sunnyvale skills get tested.

A skill isn’t finished until it holds in the places you actually go. These are the kinds of local settings a plan works toward — step by step, at your dog’s pace.
  • 01

    Murphy Avenue

Historic downtown blocks with patio dining and the Caltrain station nearby — food, noise and people.

  • 02

    Las Palmas Park

Has a fenced off-leash area — a controlled setting for early recall work when it’s quiet.

  • 03

    Apartment hallways & lobbies

Close-quarters encounters with people and dogs; the hardest place for many reactive dogs.

Local rule of thumb: Off-leash play is limited to designated dog areas; confirm current hours and rules with the City of Sunnyvale before visiting. Source: City of Sunnyvale parks (posted rules).

Local questions

Dog training in Sunnyvale: FAQ

Can you help with barking at hallway noise?

Yes. Excessive barking is one of the behaviors we work on. It usually combines management (what your dog can see and hear), teaching a settled alternative, and building tolerance to the sounds of shared living.

Is a fenced dog park a good place to practice recall?

It can be a useful step — when it’s quiet. A busy dog park is one of the hardest places to call a dog away from, so we build reliability in easier settings first.

We work long hours. Can training fit our schedule?

Sessions are by appointment Tuesday through Saturday, and the most important practice happens in short daily sessions at home. We’ll design homework that fits your real routine.
